Ask EH: Needles and syringes
Q: How do I dispose of a used EpiPen?
A: You can bring EpiPens and other needles and syringes without medication in them to a household hazardous waste collection site for free. Store them in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid.
If your sharps still have medication in them, bring them to a medicine collection site for free. Many area pharmacies also have a medicine collection program. Check with your pharmacy for locations, hours and items accepted.
Do you have a question about recycling and disposal and can’t find the answer in our A to Z Recycling & Disposal Guide? Call our recycling & disposal hotline at 651-633-EASY (3279) or send us a message.
