Boosters recommended for anyone age 12 and older
Has it been more than five months since you or a family member received your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine? Booster shots are recommended for anyone age 12 and up.
Why do you need a booster shot?
- COVID-19 vaccines are very effective, but new data shows protection may decrease over time. This is normal and expected.
- Booster shots are common for many vaccines, like the flu shot or Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis).
