Riverview enters Engineering and Pre-Environmental phase
The Riverview Corridor Modern Streetcar project has passed a new milestone with the approval of four contracts that establish the project team for the Engineering and Pre-Environmental Phase.
Throughout the three-year phase, the project team will undertake environmental and project development work - including engineering, environmental review, station area planning and community engagement - to prepare for submission of the Environmental Impact Statement to the Federal Transit Administration.
The contract partners are:
- Kimley-Horn - Engineering and pre-environmental.
- 4RM+ULA - Communications and community engagement.
- Mead and Hunt - Cultural resource services.
- Perkins + Will, Inc. - Station area planning services.
An additional contract for project management is expected to be executed in November.
Members join Policy Advisory Committee
Seventeen members have been seated on the Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) for the project's Engineering and Pre-Environmental phase.
PAC members include policymakers, agency representatives, residents and businesses with connections to the corridor and located along it. The PAC advises the Ramsey County project team and uses technical and community input to address issues relating to environmental review, preliminary engineering and station area planning
The committee is expected to have its first meeting in the first half of November 2020 and will generally meet every two months after that. Future meeting notices will be posted at riverviewcorrdior.com, in future editions of this newsletter and through social media.
