New service plan in effect in response to coronavirus pandemic
Ramsey County has enacted new operational plans to continue providing services while protecting the health of residents and staff throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. The new service models are designed to minimize person-to person contact between employees and the public based on public health requirements for social distancing.
Summaries of service delivery modifications for all departments are available at ramseycounty.us/coronavirus. Additional detail will be added daily as operations are implemented and continue to develop in the days and weeks ahead.

Customer Contact Center
Ramsey County’s Customer Contact Center is available from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday at 651-266-8500 as a one-stop option for directing and resolving questions.
County park playgrounds closed
All playgrounds in parks maintained by Ramsey County are closed, including Discovery Hollow at Tamarack Nature Center. The public is welcome to use all trails during this time. Please continue to practice social distancing by maintaining at least six feet between yourself and others.
Drop-off and processing sites
Most services will be provided via phone or online options. For those limited situations in which it is not possible for a resident to interact with Ramsey County via telephone or online options, three locations in the city of Saint Paul and three suburban county locations will serve as secure drop-off and processing sites for documents related to all service types. Symptoms
The CDC believes at this time that symptoms of COVID-19 may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 after exposure. Symptoms can include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
People who are mildly ill with COVID-19 can stay at home during their illness.They should restrict activities outside your home, except for getting medical care. Call your health care provider if you develop symptoms and have been in close contact with a person known to have recently traveled from an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19. If you don’t have a health care provider, or are uninsured, contact a federally qualified Community Health Center.
When to seek immediate medical attention
If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse and bluish lips or face. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.

Respite facility for unsheltered adults now open
Ramsey County and its partners opened Mary Hall - at the former Dorothy Day Center in downtown Saint Paul - as a respite facility for unsheltered single adults displaying symptoms of COVID-19 on Friday, March 27. The location provides 24/7 symptom monitoring, meals, security and transportation to and from the site for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Mental health resources
Times like these can be difficult for adults, children and families. Ramsey County’s mental health crisis lines continue to be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Monthly test of outdoor warning sirens takes place April 1
The monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. This standard monthly test is not related to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic or Governor Walz’s Stay at Home Executive Order.
The outdoor warning system is used mainly for severe weather but could be used for other dangers if necessary. The siren system is tested on the first Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m.
