Residents at the Ramsey County Parks Community Event to discuss master plan amendment for Snail Lake Regional Park
Community Conversation on Water Issues
Commissioner Frethem will be hosting a community meeting to open a conversation about the flooding issues in and around Shoreview. Local agencies and governments with water authority will have the opportunity to inform residents of the actions being taken regarding this issue. Following a presentation about the history of water issues, residents will be able to engage in an open discussion to be heard and get their questions answered. The meeting will be held at the Shoreview Community Center on March 12th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
On January 23rd, Ramsey County Parks Department held a community engagement meeting at Ramsey County Library in Shoreview to discuss the flooding around Snail Lake and the Parks department plans to rebuild for resiliency. Commissioner Frethem appreciates the neighbors who turned out to share their ideas on how the park could be adapted to address the excess water.

Commissioner Frethem has reached out to District 1 city councils to introduce herself and present her goals for the district in 2020. She attended Arden Hills city council meeting on January 27th, White Bear Township executive board meeting on January 31st, and the Vadnais Heights city council meeting and workshop on February 4th. Commissioner Frethem plans to attend the following city council meetings:
- February 10: Mounds View City Council
- February 13: North Oaks City Council

Ramsey County Commissioners with Senate Bonding Tour
Ramsey County Commissioners welcomed the Senate Bonding Tour to several Ramsey County priority projects. The committee stopped in North Oaks to hear about improvements to the County Road J and 35 E interchange. We are requesting 1.5 million dollars for an engineering study as a first phase in making the necessary improvements at the interchange. That same day the committee toured the Riversedge project in downtown St. Paul.

Ramsey County board of Commissioners serve on several internal standing committees of the whole. Commissioner Frethem has been appointed Chair of the Health and Wellness Service Team and Vice Chair of the Safety and Justice Service Team committees of the whole.
