More Food Scraps Collection Sites Added
Falcon Heights and White Bear Lake residents have new options for recycling food waste with the opening of two more 24/7 food scraps collection sites. They are located at Falcon Heights City Hall (2077 Larpenteur Ave. West) and White Bear Lake Public Works (3950 Hoffman Rd). There are now 15 food scraps collection sites located throughout Ramsey County, with more to come! Free compostable bags are provided at each site for residents to use for collecting their food scraps.
Why recycle food scraps? More than 30% of what goes into the trash is food scraps and other organic waste. Food scraps collected at Ramsey County sites are converted into compost, which puts valuable nutrients back into the soil and can be used for gardening and landscaping projects.
