Early and absentee voting open for County Commissioner District 1

Absentee voting is currently open for the Aug. 13 special primary election for County Commissioner District 1. Early voting will be available at Ramsey County's Plato building in Saint Paul Aug. 6-10 and Aug. 12.

Commissioner District 1 represents the communities of Arden Hills, Gem Lake, North Oaks, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Township and parts of Mounds View, Spring Lake Park and Blaine.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Aug. 13 for the primary. Visit mnvotes.org to check your registration status and find your polling place.

The two candidates who receive the most votes will be on the ballot for the Nov. 5 general election.


Proposed 2020-2021 budget presention Aug. 6

County Manager Ryan O'Connor will present the proposed 2020-2021 budget to the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 6. The presentation will be live-streamed and also available via video archive. Additional budget hearings will take place on several dates throughout August.

Prepare your kids for school and daycare with immunizations

Immunizations are required prior to starting school in Minnesota for all students enrolled in grades kindergarten through 12, child care and early childhood programs. 

Public Health’s Immunization Clinic offers low-cost immunizations for individuals without insurance, whose insurance does not cover immunizations, or who are unable to access services.

New staffer at Ramsey County Attorney's Office is PAW-some

Norie is the newest member of the Ramsey County Attorney's Office. She is a trained facility dog who has specific instruction in helping victims and witnesses feel comfortable during the legal process.

Extend hours available during Child Support Awareness Month

The Ramsey County Attorney's Office Child Support Services division is offering extended evening hours at the county's Metro Square building in Saint Paul during the month of August as part of Child Support Awareness Month.

During extended evening hours, parents can:

  • Reinstate a driver's license that has been suspended for non-payment of child support by entering into a payment agreement.
  • Meet with child support staff to make a payment.
  • Request to change a child support order. 

In addition, FathersFirst! will be available during the Aug. 21 session to provide assistance with family law questions about child support, divorce, custody and parenting time.
