It's Mental Health Awareness Month

May is mental health awareness month

Throughout the month, our public health and social services will provide opportunities for everyone who lives, works and plays in Ramsey County to learn and spread awareness about mental health and well-being.

Spring has sprung at county golf courses

Spring is here and county golf courses are ready! All Ramsey County golf courses and driving ranges are open for the season. Learn more about our courses which cater to golfers of all ages and skill levels:

  • Goodrich (Maplewood).
  • Keller (Maplewood).
  • Manitou Ridge (White Bear Lake).
  • The Ponds at Battle Creek (Maplewood).
  • Island Lake (Shoreview).

May is National Foster Care Month

Every heart needs a home. 

National Foster Care Month is a time to recognize foster parents, policymakers, child welfare professionals and others who help more than 1,000 youth in Ramsey County foster care find brighter futures and permanent homes. 

Foster parents make a difference in our community every day. Learn how you can foster a future by attending our upcoming foster care parent orientation on Thursday, June 13.

University partnership with county produces future-thinking projects

Ramsey County has been partnering with the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project during the 2018-2019 academic year. You're invited to come celebrate the work of students and learn about their 14 cross-disciplinary projects with the county to address community resiliency and sustainability.

Projects include:

  • Removing Transportation Barriers to Employment.
  • Empowering Citizens to Vote.
  • Putting Residents First: Accessibility of County Service Facilities.
  • Making Connections: Reducing Food Waste While Improving Food Security.
