Ramsey County Emergency Communications and Fire Chiefs Association adopt lifesaving PulsePoint mobile app

Ramsey County Emergency Communications and the Ramsey County Fire Chiefs Association will announce the county’s adoption of PulsePoint, a free mobile app that allows CPR-trained citizens to receive alerts about nearby sudden cardiac arrest victims in public locations so they may administer aid until emergency responders arrive. The lifesaving technology also alerts citizens to the location of the nearest AED.

In 2018, Ramsey County 911 received approximately 60 calls for sudden cardiac arrest that occurred in a public setting where nearby CPR-trained citizens could have provided aid. Fifty-seven percent of U.S. adults say they have had CPR training, and most would be willing to use CPR or an AED to help save a stranger’s life.
