The Value of Volunteering

During January 2018 our volunteers and interns provided 1,166 hours of service.

According to the Independent Sector's estimated value of a volunteer hour at $24.14, these January hours are valued at $28,153.

Citizens Advisory Council improves county services since 1979

Join a committee!

In 1979, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners created the Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) as a way for residents to formally and consistently provide recommendations for improvements to county services on behalf of the populations they represent.

Today, 39 years later, the council is made up of seven advisory committees representing the areas of adult mental health, adult services, chemical health, children’s mental health, children’s services, intellectual and developmental disabilities and low-income communities. Approximately 55 members serve on the committees.
