Maryland Avenue: Community meeting follow-up and resurfacing update

Maryland Avenue updates

Community meeting follow-up

We appreciate the thoughtful comments people shared about the 4-to-3 lane test project during the community meeting on September 12. The meeting included:

  • A brief project review.
  • A summary of the plan moving forward.
  • Information about what was learned during the test
  • What still needs to be studied.
  • Questions or comments from meeting attendees.

Ramsey County will extend the test project over the winter and traffic-related data will be collected.

Ramsey County technical data and feedback from the community is posted on-line. The presentation and a summary of comments from the meeting are also available. Technical data from the city of Saint Paul will be posted soon. We will send an email when that is available.

Resurfacing between Clark and Edgerton streets

The surface layer of the roadway on Maryland Avenue between Clark and Edgerton streets will be removed and replaced with new, smooth pavement beginning the week of September 18. The project is not expected to take more than one week.

Lane shifts will be in place. Maryland Avenue is scheduled for closure between Clark and Edgerton streets on Wednesday, September 20. A detour will be posted on the roadway.

Please use caution along roadways where workers are making repairs and improvements. Follow lane changes and look out for pedestrians, especially children and seniors, and bicyclists near construction zones.
