A Good, Safe Place to Live

Finding safe, affordable rental housing can be a challenge for new arrivals to Minnesota, especially for immigrants and refugees dealing with language and cultural barriers. Many don’t know their rights as tenants, or their responsibilities.Ramsey County, in partnership with the City of Roseville, tpt | ECHO, and other agencies and non-profits created videos to help explain the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords. The videos will be available in Somali, Karen, Spanish, Hmong and basic English.

In addition, the Minnesota Literacy Council has developed an English Language Learners curriculum as a companion piece to the program. It will be distributed to statewide adult English language learners.

"A Good, Safe Place to Live" premieres at 9 pm CT April 4, 2016 on TPT's Minnesota Channel.

Medicine Collection

Did you know?

You can safely dispose of unwanted, expired and unused medicines for free at one of three public drop boxes in Ramsey County. Safe disposal of unwanted medicine helps prevent crime, drug abuse, and accidental poisoning. Not flushing medicines down the drain or disposing of them in the trash helps protect our environment.

There are 3 locations in Ramsey County:

Law Enforcement Center (Saint Paul), 425 Grove St.

Sheriff's Patrol Station (Arden Hills), 1411 Paul Kirkwold Dr.

North Saint Paul City Hall, 2400 Margaret Street

There is free parking at all locations.

Ramsey County Historical Society logo

Ever wonder who runs Gibbs Farm?

The Ramsey County Historical Society (RCHS) began in 1949 when a group of citizens moved to acquire and preserve the Heman and Jane Gibbs farm in Falcon Heights. Following five years of restoration work, the Gibbs Farm museum opened its gates in 1954. In 1974, the farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)3, donor-supported organization that depends on gifts from individuals, foundation and corporations for its support.

Ramsey County Historical Society has three primary programs:

  • Gibbs Farm: Pathways to Dakota & Pioneer Life.
  • Ramsey County History Magazine
  • Research Programs: Research Center, Collections and Exhibitions
