Dear Licensee,
You are receiving this email because our records indicate that your license is due for renewal on June 30th and we have not yet received your payment. June 30th falls on a Sunday this year and I wanted to reach out to let you know that while we will be entering credits as we receive them, anything reported after 3:30 on 6/28/2024 may not make it onto your account before the deadline. Please keep this in consideration as you are completing any remaining credits you need.
As previously communicated, all officers must have a minimum of 48 hours of continuing education in their POST board training record in order to renew their license.
Within those 48 hours active officers must also have a minimum of 16 MN POST approved credits in the following categories in order to renew their license:
- Autism: 4 credits
- Conflict Management and Mediation: 1 credit
- Crisis Intervention and Mental Illness Crisis: 6 credits
- Recognizing and Valuing Community Diversity and Cultural Differences to Include Implicit Bias: 1 credit
- Crimes Motivated by Bias: 1 credit
- The remaining 3 credits are elective and can be taken in any of these four categories
If you are unable to submit your payment prior to June 30, 2024 due to credits not being uploaded, your license will expire and as a consequence, you are not authorized to practice law enforcement in Minnesota until your remaining credits are uploaded and the payment has been submitted.
You can review your credits by logging into your dashboard https://mnit.force.com/license
If you have any questions, please contact the POST board main line at 651-643-3060 or postboard.agency.docs@state.mn.us
