 Chankahda Trail Project - Construction Update
Stage 3A
Chankahda Trail remains closed between Yucca Lane and Northwest Boulevard. The segment of Chankahda Trail between Sycamore Lane and Northwest Boulevard is anticipated to reopen in mid-August. Stage 3B is anticipated to begin in late August.
Below is a summary of construction activities completed this week and work planned for next week.
Week of August 3
- All underground utility work in Stage 3A is complete.
- The stormwater basin near the corner of Northwest Boulevard is complete.
- Continue road base construction between Yucca Lane and Sycamore Lane.
- Continue construction of the retaining wall near Highway 494.
- Grade and prepare the trail for paving between Sycamore Lane and Northwest Boulevard.
- Grade and install the road base between Yucca Lane and Sycamore Lane.
- Install pedestrian curb ramps between Sycamore Lane and Northwest Boulevard.
Week of August 10
- Install pedestrian push buttons at the Northwest Boulevard intersection.
- Pave the trail and install signage between Sycamore Lane and Northwest Boulevard.
- Install curb and gutter between Yucca Lane and Sycamore Lane.
- Continue construction of the retaining wall near Highway 494.
