Station 73 TRIP Project update – Aug. 22
Crews have installed the concrete tunnel that will serve as the pedestrian underpass crossing Highway 55. Work now involves filling around the tunnel and installing the retaining walls to support the raised elevation of Highway 55 as it goes over the tunnel. This work is scheduled to continue into late September and Highway 55 is anticipated to reopen to traffic in late fall.
Utility work at the intersection of South Shore Drive and the north Frontage Road will continue into mid-September. Due to this work, the intersection will remain closed to all traffic. A detour has been established to provide access to nearby businesses. View a map of the detour (PDF).
Businesses to the east of South Shore Drive (Holiday Gas Station, Latuff’s Pizzeria, Absheron Palace, MNPokePulls and Aurora Tower) will continue to use the access provided via Revere Lane and Highway 55.
Businesses to the west of South Shore Drive (Plymouth Liquors, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Pro Staff, APD Wealth Management, Eminent Interior Design, SKD Architects, Famous Dave’s and Mister Car Wash) will be accessible via West Medicine Lake Drive.
Reminder: Support local business – please remember that area businesses are open during construction.
