 36th Avenue Rehabilitation Project begins April 21, motorists should expect detours
Phase 1 of the 36th Avenue Rehabilitation Project is set to begin Monday, April 21.
A large project that will help improve pavement conditions and mitigate safety concerns, the project spans 36th Avenue from Zachary Lane to Highway 169. Construction is expected to continue through November 2025, weather depending.
Road Closures, Detours
During Phase 1, 36th Avenue will be closed from Zachary Lane/East Medicine Lake Boulevard to Armstrong High School. Phase 2 will include road closure from Armstrong High School to Lancaster/Kilmer lanes. Access to residential areas and access to Plymouth Middle School and Armstrong High School will be maintained throughout construction.

Other components of the project include pick-up/drop-off realignment at Plymouth Middle School; modifying the roadway from Pilgrim Lane to Lancaster Lane; pedestrian crossing enhancements near Armstrong High School and Plymouth Middle School; and trail construction.
