Spotlight: Dementia Friendly Programming
Plymouth Parks and Recreation offers programs for people with dementia, their care partners, and the community to reduce isolation, increase awareness, and enhance social connectedness at the Plymouth Community Center.
Meet Your Neighbor: Dementia Friends Session 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14
Attend a free one-hour session to learn about and how to support people impacted by dementia. Learn 5 key messages, communication tips and resources available.
Plymouth Memory Cafe 1-2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 15
Enjoy a performance by Plymouth's very own Storytime Players at the May Memory Cafe. Optional: Caregiver support group in adjoining room. People with early-mid stage dementia and care partners welcome. Summer Memory Cafes: Mondays: 6/23, 7/22, and 8/25.
Dementia Friendly Open Gym 1:30-3 p.m. Thursdays, May 1- May 22.
Play pickleball and other popular sports in the gym at the PCC in a relaxed environment. People with early-mid stage dementia and care partners welcome. Questions? Contact 763-509-5284
Caregiver Support Groups 4:30-6 p.m. 2nd Tuesdays (Virtual) 10-11:30 a.m. 3rd Wednesdays (In-person)
Receive support and share tips with fellow caregivers when caring for a loved one with dementia or other chronic conditions. Facilitated by a licensed social worker. Free.

Memorial Day Event 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22
Honor those who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces at the Plymouth Veterans Memorial. Free.

Beaches and Bonfires 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 22
Live music, food trucks and bonfires at East Medicine Lake Park. Parking is limited. Bike or walk the 1.5 mile trail from West Medicine Lake parking lot to East Medicine Lake Park. Free.

Plymouth Metrolink Click-and-Ride offers $3 rides, seven days a week: Riders can book on-demand shuttles through the free Click-and-Ride app. The Click-and-Ride app is available through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Passengers who would like to request rides by phone may do so by calling 763-559-5057.
