Construction Update June 7 - All Timelines Are Weather Dependent
Mapledell
Private utility work (CenterPoint, Xcel, Comcast, etc.) continues. CenterPoint has completed their mainline work and will continue connecting home services to the mainline for the next 2-3 weeks. These utilities are being relocated because they are either in the way of the city’s proposed infrastructure or because their maintenance cycles are in alignment with the project. This work will be primarily within the street right of way, however, there may be some work within side yard and backyard easements.
The city’s contractor for this project, Northwest Asphalt, is hoping to begin as soon as the private utility work is completed. While the contractor’s exact start date is still unknown, they will likely begin in early June.
Heritage/Medicine Lake Highlands
Private utility work continues. While the contractor's exact start day is still unknown, they will likely begin in July.
Westridge Estates/Forster Preserve
Private utility work continues. The city’s contractor for this project, Northwest Asphalt, is focusing their attention on Phase 3A (Larch Lane and west portion of Old Rockford Road). The first layer of pavement on Larch Lane is tentatively scheduled to begin on June 14. The contractor also plans to start patch pavement removals on the west portion of Old Rockford Road to prepare for construction of the trail.
The contractor is tentatively scheduled to begin pavement removals on 42nd Avenue on June 17.
Nathan Lane, Schmidt Lake Road, 45th Avenue, Hwy 169 Service Drive
The contractor has placed the first layer of pavement on Phase 1A (Highway 169 Service Drive and 45th Avenue sections). Only minor punch list items are left in this section until the final paving later this fall.
The contractor has begun and will continue to work on concrete curb/pedestrian ramps and minor utility repair on Phase 1B (Nathan Lane from Rockford Road to 45th Avenue). Removing the pavement and paving the first layer of pavement is tentatively scheduled for the week of June 17 in this phase.
The city’s construction inspector, Moe Omer, will be onsite regularly during construction and is available to answer questions. His contact information is momer@plymouthmn.gov or (763) 509-5529.
