Construction Update - All Timelines Are Weather Dependent
Mapledell
Private utility work (CenterPoint, Xcel, Comcast, etc.) has started. CenterPoint has completed their mainline work and will continue to work for the next 3-4 weeks connecting home services to the mainline.
These utilities are being relocated because they are either in the way of the city’s proposed infrastructure or because their maintenance cycles are in alignment with the project. This work will be primarily within the street right of way, however, there may be some work within side yard and backyard easements. The city’s contractor for this project, Northwest Asphalt, Inc, is hoping to begin as soon as the private utility work is completed. While Northwest’s exact start day is still unknown, they will likely begin in late May or June.
Heritage/Medicine Lake Highlands Private utility work has started. While Northwest’s exact start day is still unknown, they will likely begin in May or early June.
Westridge Estates/Forster Preserve Private utility work has started. While Northwest’s exact start day is still unknown, they will likely begin in May or early June.
Nathan Lane, Schmidt Lake Road, 45th Avenue, Hwy 169 Service Drive Northwest Asphalt has mobilized and installed erosion control devices in the project area. They will be working in/on the Highway 169 Service Drive and 45th Avenue sections, and plan to begin saw cutting curb and utilities May 3. Concrete curb removals are anticipated to begin the week of May 6. For businesses with only one driveway access, the concrete work will be poured in two halves to allow access to be maintained.
Note: concrete takes 7 days to fully harden before it can be driven on. Please avoid walking or driving on fresh concrete.
The city’s construction inspector, Moe Omer, will be onsite regularly during construction and is available to answer questions. His contact information is momer@plymouthmn.gov or (763) 509-5529.
