Construction Update - October 6
The Gleason Lake Drive and Vicksburg Lane intersection opened to traffic on September 1. Minor items remain to be completed. Other intersections along the project corridor will periodically be closed to allow for construction activities. The contractor will maintain access to owners in the area, but delays should be anticipated during construction work.
Sod has been installed on Phase 1B and Phase 2. The contractor will be responsible for the sod for 30 days. Towards the end of the warranty period, project staff will inspect the sod and have deficient areas replaced. After the 30-day warranty period, the property owner will be responsible for ongoing care and maintenance of the sod. The city would like to emphasize the importance of continued watering and maintenance of the new sod so that proper growth is maintained. Some sod takes a few years before it is fully established to the hearty condition of the rest of your lawn. Read more about Sod Replacement Guidelines and Maintenance below under Additional Information.
Phase 3 - Gleason Lake Drive between Niagara Lane and Carlson Parkway The contractor has completed the utility/pipe work. The contractor plans to begin earth/gravel work to begin shaping the road section next week.
The temporary access road to the Harbor Lane neighborhood will be necessary to use several times over the next month or so. While the temporary access road is in use, residents of the Harbor Lane neighborhood will only be able to enter/leave from Carlson Parkway, and only residents with direct driveways to Gleason Lake Drive will be able to access Gleason Lake Drive between Juneau Lane and Harbor Lane from the west. Additionally, access to Carlson Parkway will not be available at times when the contractor is working directly adjacent to Carlson Parkway. During these times, all residents will have access from Gleason Lake Drive.
We appreciate your patience as we work to complete this portion of the project as quickly and safely as possible.
