Construction Update September 15
The Gleason Lake Drive and Vicksburg Lane intersection opened to traffic on September 1. Minor items remain to be completed. Other intersections along the project corridor will periodically be closed to allow for construction activities. The contractor will maintain access to owners in the area, but delays should be anticipated during construction work.
Sod has been installed on Phase 1B and Phase 2. The contractor will be responsible for the sod for 30 growing days. Towards the end of the warranty period, project staff will inspect the sod and have deficient areas replaced. After the 30-day warranty period, the property owner will be responsible for ongoing care and maintenance of the sod. The city would like to emphasize the importance of continued watering and maintenance of the new sod so that proper growth is maintained. Some sod takes a few years before it is fully established to the hearty condition of the rest of your lawn. Please visit the project webpage for guidelines to help care for new sod.
Phase 3 - Gleason Lake Drive between Niagara Lane and Carlson Parkway The contractor has completed installing the new water main between Niagara Lane and Juneau Lane and expects to be done with the service connections soon. Next week the contactor plans to begin work on utilities near the Harbor Lane and Carlson Parkway intersection. The contractor will be constructing a temporary road/access for the residents of the Harbor Lane neighborhood to be able to enter and leave. This temporarily access will be needed several times over the next month or so. While the temporary access road is in use, residents of the Harbor Lane neighborhood will only be able to enter/leave from Carlson Parkway. Only residents with direct driveways to Gleason Lake Drive will be able to access Gleason Lake Drive, between Juneau Lane and Harbor Lane, from the west.
We appreciate your patience as we work to complete this portion of the project as quickly and safely as possible.
