 Construction Update - July 17
Fernbrook Lane: On Tuesday, July 18, CenterPoint Energy's contractor will re-open Fernbrook Lane north of County Road 6 after completing gas main repairs.
On Wednesday, July 19, the city’s contractor will close Fernbrook Lane between 23rd Avenue and 25th Avenue. The intersection of Fernbrook Lane and 23rd Avenue will be open and traffic maintained, allowing for business access east of Fernbrook Lane.
With 25th Avenue closed, access to the Cheshire Lane frontage road and 25th Avenue will be available from Cheshire Avenue just south of Highway 55. Access to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and United Rental will be maintained during construction. A detour route map may be viewed under Additional Information on the project webpage.
This closure will allow for continual work of utility repairs, trail construction, and milling and repaving of the street.
Cornerstone Commons area: It is anticipated city crews will mill and overlay this area in mid to late July.
Cimmarron East neighborhood: Roadway work in the Cimarron East neighborhood and Fernbrook Lane south of 23rd Avenue will occur later in the summer. Notification of the anticipated start date will be sent closer to that time.
