Construction Update - June 23
The first phase of the Fernbrook Lane reclamation, between Highway 55 and 25th Avenue, is anticipated to open the second week of July. Crews are working nights and weekends to complete underground watermain repairs, install the aggregate base, and pave the blacktop for the roadway to re-open.
In mid-July, the city’s contractor will take a short break from road closures in order for CenterPoint Energy to complete a main gas line replacement. CenterPoint’s contractor will need to close the block north of County Road 6. When CenterPoint’s project is complete, the city’s contractor will close Fernbrook Lane, from 25th Avenue to approximately 21st Avenue, for the second phase of the reclamation project. This is anticipated to be near the end of July. An update will be provided closer to that time.
Concrete spot repairs in the Cornerstone area are anticipated to be complete by the July 4th holiday weekend. City crews will perform the mill and overlay in mid-July.
Roadway work in the Cimarron East neighborhood and Fernbrook Lane south of 25th Avenue will occur later in the summer. Notification of the anticipated start date will be sent closer to that time.
We appreciate and thank you for your continued patience during the project.
