 Construction Scheduled to Begin on Phase 2 of Chankahda Trail
The contractor for Phase 2 of the Chankahda Trail Reconstruction Project plans to start construction on Monday, May 22nd. Phase 2 of the project includes Chankahda Trail from Peony Lane to Vicksburg Lane. The work will require Chankahda Trail be closed to traffic in the project area. Advanced warning signage for the closure has already been posted and a detour route will be posted once the closure starts. A construction staging and detour layout is available on the project webpage at www.plymouthmn.gov/chankahda.
The contractor will be starting work on the east end of the project from east of Archer Lane to and including the intersection with Vicksburg Lane. The Chankahda Trail/Vicksburg Lane intersection will be fully closed to traffic for a period of 30 days to allow the contractor to complete work in the intersection. While the intersection is closed, the detour route for Chankahda Trail will consist of Peony Lane, Schmidt Lake Road, and Cheshire Parkway. The detour route for Vicksburg Lane will consist of Schmidt Lake Road, Peony Lane/Maple Grove Parkway, and Bass Lake Road.
