City of Plymouth follows CDC and state guidelines regarding coronavirus
As the first coronavirus cases are confirmed in Minnesota, Plymouth’s Emergency Management Team is working closely with public safety officials in neighboring cities and schools, along with our EMS, county and state partners to be prepared to serve our community as the situation evolves.
This coordinated planning ensures our city and region are well positioned to respond to changing circumstances.
The City of Plymouth is following the recommended guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health. At this time, there are no recommended restrictions on gatherings and all recreation programs and events will be held as planned.
Prevention Tips from the CDC
Follow these tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to prevent the spread of illnesses:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
