Established in 1931, the Minnesota Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) is a state agency and administers five retirement plans that serve almost 500,000 county, city, school, and other local government public employees from 2,100 governmental agencies.
Our work is more than just a job. Our mission is to administer and promote sustainable retirement plans and provide services our members value.
Because our agency has a large range of responsibilities, we have exciting opportunities for people with diverse talents and experience. We employ a wide variety of professionals and support staff – ranging from developers, accountants, and payment specialists to office administration, customer service, and legal.
At the State of Minnesota, employees play a critical role in developing policies, providing essential services, and working to improve the well-being and quality of life for all Minnesotans. The State of Minnesota invests in employees by providing benefits, support resources, and training and development opportunities.
The Finance and Accounting division manages the financial reporting and accounting activities for all funds PERA administers. The division directs the planning, financial reporting, and risk management for the agency to ensure sustainable retirement plans.
Our accounting team reviews incoming and outgoing transactions for various accounts and reports accurate financial information to support PERA. The team also coordinates payroll, cash receipts, accounts payable, and everyday essential accounting services.
