Notice of Intent to Reissue the NPDES/SDS Multi-Sector General Permit for Industrial Stormwater Activity

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) invites you to review and comment on the MPCA’s draft Industrial Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit (Permit) between March 31 and April 30, 2014.  The MPCA proposes to reissue this Permit to protect water quality by preventing or reducing contact of stormwater with industrial activities and materials, including products, intermediate products, by-products, and wastes used, stored, or created at a facility.  Many industrial materials contain hazardous materials, metals, fuel, oil, grease, and salts that could contaminate stormwater, and ultimately a local surface-water or groundwater resource.

Written comments on the MPCA’s draft Permit should be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on April 30, 2014, to:

  • Melissa Wenzel, Industrial Division, MPCA 520 Lafayette Rd N, Saint Paul, MN 55155-4194
  • Fax:  Attn. Mellissa Wenzel at 651-296-8717
  • E-mail Melissa Wenzel

Copies of the draft permit and related technical fact sheet are available for review:

  • at the MPCA’s St. Paul office: 520 Lafayette Road N;
  • at the MPCA’s Duluth office: 525 Lake Ave. S, Suite 400;
  • by contacting Barbara Olafson at 651-757-2098;
  • on the MPCA Web site

Sincerely,

Melissa Wenzel, State Program Administrator Principal
