Data Reports – Getting data out of EQuIS

Internal staff can retrieve data by accessing:

  • Enterprise EZView – EZView is currently working in a limited capacity.  Staff can access EZView from the agency web browser by following the instructions below.

In the ‘Build Reports’ section, the highest functioning report is named ‘(Beta) Analytical Results.’ Here a user can choose their ‘picks’ to set up and successfully retrieve customized data results. Users should not select ‘Location - Individual’ because the system will time out. Agency report developers are making efforts to fix this problem and to increase the overall functionality of the EZView system.

Current step by step instructions for EZView (6/23/11):

  1. Type equis/equis in your internet browser. (First time users need to request a username and password. You will receive a confirmation email and then you can log in.)
  2. Log in.
  3. Select Enterpise EZView from left menu.
  4. Select (Beta) Analytical Results form list of reports that appear.
  5. Use any search criteria to narrow down your data search in EQuIS except Location, Individual(s). The report will stall out of you try to pull up a list of possible locations. Note if you are looking for Projects, choose Task(s) in the report. They are the same thing.
  6. Click on View: Report on the top.
  7. You will be asked to either Open or Save an Excel file or a Zip file depending on the size of your download.

The online help is informative and staff can also contact Miranda Nichols for a tutorial.

  • EQuIs Professional Reports Module – This option is available but limited to staff that manage and maintain the EQuIS database. In EQuIS Professional, staff can run reports using the Reports Module which is fully functioning.

The agency has 7 concurrent EQuIS Professional licenses available. For more information about obtaining access to this system, please contact Miranda Nichols.

Internal and external staff can retrieve data by accessing:

  • EPA STORET System – The EPA STORET system provides pre-2010 MPCA surface water data as well as environmental data from other sources.
  • The EQuIS Team – An EQuIS team member can provide customized data reports and assistance with using tools to generate data reports.
