Proposed Rule Amendments to Minn. R. ch. 7020, 7001 and 7002

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) announces an official public comment period, from July 22 through August 26, 2013, on proposed amendments to state rules regulating animal feedlots.

The MPCA is proposing to amend these rules to address law changes made by the Legislature in the 2011 special session. The MPCA is also taking this opportunity to remove obsolete rule requirements, address other law changes adopted since Chapter 7020 was revised in 2000, and provide clarification to certain existing rules, in Chapters 7020, 7001 and 7002.

To review a copy of the MPCA’s dual notice of intention to adopt these proposed rule amendments without a public hearing, unless 25 or more persons request a hearing, and notice of hearing, if 25 or more requests for a hearing are received, please go to the following MPCA Web page: www.pca.state.mn.us/iryp3c9. The MPCA is encouraging written comments on the proposed rules. As indicated in the notice, all written comments need to be submitted to the MPCA contact person by no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 26, 2013.
