Abbott Northwestern Hospital - Draft Air Permit - Public Notice

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is seeking comments on a draft air emissions permit for Abbott Northwestern Hospital, located at 800 28th St. E. in Minneapolis. The public comment period runs from Dec. 7, 2012 to Jan. 22, 2013.
Abbott Northwestern Hospital is proposing a change to its current air permit to allow a change in back-up fuels, as well as include space heating equipment and an emergency generator for the lab building. Information about the Cumulative Levels and Effects Process and Abbott Northwestern Hospital’s permit application are available on the MPCA’s Cumulative Impacts Air Permitting in South Minneapolis webpage.
A public information meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the draft permit. The meeting will be held at The Center for Changing Lives, 2400 Park Ave. S. in Minneapolis. It will begin with a short presentation, followed by time for questions until 8:00 p.m.
Comments on the draft air emissions permit must be received in writing at the MPCA by 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 22, 2013. Send comments, requests and petitions to:

The public notice, draft permit and technical support document are available at the MPCA’s Public Notice Webpage (see notices under December 7, 2012). Or, any interested person can obtain a copy by making the request in writing to the MPCA. Additional materials relating to the issuance of this permit are available for review by appointment at the MPCA, 520 Lafayette Road N. in St. Paul, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 651-296-6300 for an appointment. The draft permit and application materials are also available for review at the Franklin Public Library, 1314 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis.
