Apply to be a Minnesota GreenCorps host site!

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is accepting applications from organizations interested in hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps AmeriCorps member for the 2026-2027 program year. Members serve at organizations throughout the state, completing community-focused environmental projects while gaining experience and learning green job skills.

Build organizational capacity, advance environmental projects in your community, and help train the next generation of environmental professionals by hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps member!

The MPCA plans to select site organizations to host up to 58 Minnesota GreenCorps members; members serve full-time from September 2026 to August 2027. Organizations eligible to host include government entities (local, regional, state, and tribal), school districts, public education institutions, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Host sites provide supervision and support members on community-focused projects in one of the four topic areas: community readiness and outreach, energy conservation and green transportation, stormwater and forestry, or waste reduction and recycling. 

Put together a strong application by reviewing the below forms and guidance:

• Information session – listen to this recording covering a programmatic overview, service activities, performance measures, AmeriCorps regulations, and application tips and resources.
• Host site application guide (p-mgc2-03) – read the guide including the position descriptions, host site expectations, member benefits, and prohibited service activities.
• Sample service plans (p-mgc2-27) – review the sample service plans that illustrate the level of detail needed in the member application project plan section.
• Sample host site agreement (p-mgc2-09a) – reference the sample host site agreement.
• Host site application form (p-mgc2-02) – complete this application form.

For the 2026-2027 program year, MN GreenCorps anticipates selecting sites to host up to 58 members around the state. However, the number of members and length of their service will depend on receiving AmeriCorps funding. Confirmation of funds will not be available prior to the host site application deadline. Federal funding has been fluid, and additional actions at the federal level could impact this program.
