“I think transitioning to a new place builds a lot of self-confidence….and teaches us how to have an open heart. When we find ourselves in a new environment, I believe we're inspired to try new things, we're curious about how people live their lives, and we're compelled to learn how to better support ourselves and others.” ~ 20-21 member Anthony Mazzini, Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe
“It was really helpful to learn about the cultural differences in more rural areas versus the major metro areas I have always lived in. I think it is always beneficial to leave one's "bubble" for a while and learn about the challenges outside of it, especially in the environmental field. ~ 20-21 member Kelsie Travers, City of Winona
