MPCA releases PFAS monitoring plan today. Many thanks to all who provided input
Thank you to everyone whoprovidedinput as we developed the PFAS Monitoring Plan. The final plan will be availablehere at 10 a.m. today, March 22. The plan includes more than 300 facilities, ranging from regional airports, manufacturing and industrial facilities, operating landfills and local municipal wastewater treatment plants.Inclusion in the plan does not mean that these facilities are releasing PFAS. Rather, they are identified for monitoring to better understand whether PFAS is being or has been released into surface water, groundwater, and air. This information will help MPCA protect human health and our wildlife from harmful exposures to PFAS.
The PFAS Monitoring Plan webpage includes a factsheet on how public and stakeholder input resulted in changes to the plan, along with answers to frequently asked questions we received during the public input period. If you have questions related to the PFAS Monitoring Plan, feel free to contact Sophie Greene (Sophie.greene@state.mn.us). We appreciate your involvement in the planning process and look forward to working collaboratively with all impacted partners as we implement the plan.
The mission of the MPCA is to protect and improve the environment and human health.
