Agendas for the December meetings of the Citizen–Business Group and the Government and 3M Working Group are posted on the 3M Settlement website. The agendas for each group are the same.
This month the groups will discuss evaluation criteria for "expedited" projects. They will also review and discuss the specific tasks needed to complete the drinking water supply plan.
All 3M Settlement work group meetings are open the public and time is reserved at each to answer questions from attendees.
The first meeting of the Drinking Water Supply Subgroup will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Information about this subgroup and the agenda for the first meeting are on the group's webpage — https://3msettlement.state.mn.us/subgroup-1-drinking-water-supply.
The meeting will be held in the Training Room at the Cottage Grove City Hall, located at 12800 Ravine Parkway South.
In February 2018, Minnesota and the 3M Company settled their lawsuit regarding natural resource damages associated with a group of chemicals known as PFCs. 3M has made a grant of $850 million as a condition of the settlement to address two priorities in the east metro area. Priority 1 is safe drinking water and groundwater sustainability. Priority 2 is restoring and enhancing natural resources.
