The North
Minneapolis Air Monitoring Project website will be updated with all available air monitoring
results through May 31, 2017 by the end of the week. You may recall that
we posted monitoring results this spring but had not yet completed analysis for
metals at that time. Those results will
soon be posted on the web page. The data
are similar to those posted earlier, but we don’t have enough data yet to say
for sure whether the levels of metals around the site are trending downward over
time.
A new monitor in the Bottineau neighborhood is showing much lower metals levels, suggesting
that pollutant levels are lower on the east side of the river, and the higher levels seen on the west side may
not be widespread.
In other matters, Northern Metal Recycling will
hold the first of the community outreach opportunities next week that it is
required to offer under the Consent Decree.
This one will be an open house format.
