Exciting Developments at Northeast Athletic Field Park

The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) has several exciting developments to announce for Northeast Athletic Field Park!

Sid Hartman All-Star Field [formerly Field 33]

Planned improvements funded by Major League Baseball and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation include new player dugouts, new backstop and fencing, new infield, increased outfield fence distance, and field irrigation. Note: In order to establish the new turf through a full growing season, Sid Hartman All-star Field will not be available for the remainder of 2014.

  • May 18, 2014 – Begin demolition/construction
  • July 10, 2014 – Field dedication – more details to come.

Concurrently, MPRB is implementing the first phase of design and construction identified in the Northeast Park Master Plan dated January 8, 2014. The master plan was developed in 2013 with community input as a comprehensive vision for the future development of Northeast Park.
