Registration for the 2014-15 school year is currently underway for Audubon and all Rec Plus sites, and applications will be accepted until the program is filled. - After School – 3:10-6 p.m.
Release days are offered at alternate sites.
“We are so excited to add another Northeast location to our Rec Plus childcare program,” said Liz Wielenski, Minneapolis Park Board Commissioner, District One and Board President. “With our Northeast schools bursting at the seams with the next generation, we need to expand at the parks to serve our youngest community members as well.”
Rec Plus enables children to experience the positive benefits of a balanced recreation program and provides a safe environment that promotes healthy physical and social development. The program offers children opportunities to get exercise, make new friends, gain confidence and have fun. Activities include games and sports, arts and crafts, homework help, field trips and nutritious snacks.
Interested parents/guardians should contact the Audubon Rec Center at 612-370-4910 for fees, availability and complete registration information. Fees are determined by a child’s school end time. Partial scholarships are available for eligible Minneapolis residents.
The school year program is offered Monday through Friday at 18 Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board recreation centers.
