Update on the Harrison Park improvements project
Plus: Join us tomorrow - November 1 - to plant trees near the playground!
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to report that construction on extensive improvements at Harrison Park remains on schedule to finish this fall!
Now Complete
- Full basketball court and futsal soccer/pickleball court are open, with hoops and nets to be installed in November
- Paths and lighting
- New lawn is established and fencing has been removed.
- Meadow with native plants near the courts - please stay out of this area to allow the plants to establish.
Tomorrow: Tree Planting at 1pm or after!
Join us for an afternoon of community and tree planting near the playground, with light snacks, lunch and drinks provided! Details below.

Playground and pavilion construction begins next week!
Grand Opening
MPRB will co-host an event next spring with neighborhood and school partners and funders to celebrate the extensive improvements at Harrison Park. We'll share details once they're confirmed!

Every neighborhood deserves a great park.
Harrison Park improvements are funded by the 20-Year Neighborhood Park Plan, a historic 2016 agreement between MPRB and the City of Minneapolis. NPP20 helps address racial and economic equity across 160+ neighborhood parks and provides more than $13 million annually to maintain, repair and replace facilities.
