Everyone is invited to help find and record biodiversity at these parks - and don't worry: You don't need to be a scientist!
Naturalists from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and local experts will provide guidance to identify all kinds of organisms, including:
- Insects
- Birds
- Plants & Trees
- Mammals
- Fungi
- Aquatic invertebrates
- Reptiles & amphibians

What's a BioBlitz?

Join friends, neighbors and others (you don't have to be a scientist!)

Explore and discover the biodiversity of Minneapolis parks

Collaborate with local experts and naturalists from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB)

Identify as many plants, animals, and organisms as possible
-
Use microscopes, magnifying glasses, binoculars and other provided tools

Create a snapshot of the variety of life at a specific place and point in time

Contribute valuable data for scientists and researchers

All ages are welcome - youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
BioBlitz Schedule
Come for either June 14, June 28 or both - and for as much or as little of the day as makes sense for you!
7:30am - 9am Early birding session
9:15am - 12:15pm Morning session
12:15 - 1pm Lunch
1-4pm Afternoon session
Lunch provided for those who register for both the morning and afternoon sessions.
