Additional BioBlitzes scheduled for June 14 and June 28
Join Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) staff on May 31 to find and record biodiversity at North Mississippi Regional Park.
You don't need to be a scientist! MPRB naturalists and local experts will be on hand for guidance to identify all kinds of organisms, including:
- Insects
- Birds
- Plants & Trees
- Mammals
- Fungi
- Aquatic invertebrates
- Reptiles & amphibians

May 31 BioBlitz sessions
7:30am - 9am Early birding session
9:15am - 12:15pm Morning session
12:15 - 1pm: Lunch
1-4pm: Afternoon session
Come for one, two or all three sessions!
Lunch will be provided for those who register for both the morning and afternoon sessions.

What's a BioBlitz?

Join friends, neighbors and others (you don't have to be a scientist!)

Explore and discover the biodiversity of Minneapolis parks

Collaborate with local experts and naturalists from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB)

Identify as many plants, animals, and organisms as possible

Use microscopes, magnifying glasses, binoculars and other provided tools

Create a snapshot of the variety of life at a specific place and point in time

Contribute valuable data for scientists and researchers

All ages are welcome - youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
