Sports officials wanted! Receive training and get hired at free officiating clinics this spring!
 The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is hiring sports officials right now for the spring/summer season. Sports include sand volleyball, softball, baseball, flag football, kickball and soccer.

Free Walk-In Officials Clinics
Get Trained and Hired in One Night!
Generally, the first hour will cover rules, expectations, certifications, hiring paperwork and other job requirements inside the recreation center. During the second hour we'll work through an interactive training session with various game situations and group discussion. This is not the case at the Live Action Clinic, which will not go over paperwork.
Veteran and Returning Officials do not need to be present for the opening onboarding presentation and can arrive at 7 pm.
Adult Soccer Officials Clinic Thursday, April 3, 6:30-8:30 pm Northeast Recreation Center, 1530 Johnson St. NE
Adult Soccer Live Action Officials Clinic Thursday, April 10, 6:30-9 pm Northeast Ice Arena (turf field), 1306 Central Ave. NE
This clinic is designed to focus on mechanics during live game action for people new to officiating or interested in working adult 6-on-6 games this year.
If you are interested in participating in the on field training, you must pre-register by emailing jrask@minneapolisparks.org because spots are limited. If you just want to observe, no pre-registration is required and you may arrive at any time during the clinic.

Youth Baseball Umpires Clinic Wednesday, April 30, 6:30-8:30 pm Lynnhurst Recreation Center, 1345 W Minnehaha Parkway
Adult/Youth Softball and Adult Kickball Umpire Clinics
The Registration Clinics will cover rules, expectations, certification requirements, hiring, paperwork, uniform/equipment, etc. All umpires are required to attend one Registration Clinic.
All of these clinics are for adult and youth softball, and adult kickball. They are all free, walk-ins are welcome!

USA Softball Test Review. Registration is in-person only. Test Review will be hybrid, in-person or online.
USA Softball of Minneapolis Metro Umpire School
Saturday, April 26, 9:30 am-12:30 pm Matthews Recreation Center, 2318 S 29th Ave.
This is for adult and youth softball umpires. MUA umpires will be onsite to answer questions, teach proper mechanics, go over rules, make sure you meet the proper uniform and equipment requirements, and most importantly, give new and less experienced umpires the opportunity to gain experience.
This is not a registration clinic.

Hiring and Paperwork Computer Lab
Thursday, April 10, 5-6:30 pm Mary Merrill MPRB Headquarters, 2117 West River Road
This workshop is open to anyone interested in officiating in Minneapolis Parks. It will take place in the computer lab. MPRB staff will be on hand to help people with their hiring paperwork, online background checks, eSupplier registration, direct deposit, etc.
