What's a BioBlitz?
-
Join friends, neighbors and others (you don't have to be a scientist!)
-
Explore and discover the biodiversity of Minneapolis parks
-
Collaborate with local experts and naturalists from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB)
-
Identify as many plants, animals, and organisms as possible
-
Use microscopes, magnifying glasses, binoculars and other provided tools
-
Create a snapshot of the variety of life at a specific place and point in time
-
Contribute valuable data for scientists and researchers
-
All ages are welcome - youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
How does it work?
Saturday's BioBlitz has three sessions. Come for for one or two or stay all day!
Session 1: Early birding - 7:30 - 9:00 am
Session 2: Nature Survey - 9:00 - 11:30 am
* Light lunch provided for those who attend Sessions 2 and 3 *
Session 3: Nature Survey - 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
