Thanks to the 65 folks who gathered on September 14 at Minnehaha Regional Park, that day's BioBlitz yielded 667 observations and identified 276 different species.
YOU can be a part of the next opportunity to find and document biodiversity in the parks: Saturday, September 28 at Theodore Wirth Regional Park.
What's a BioBlitz?
-
Join friends, neighbors and others (you don't have to be a scientist!)
-
Explore and discover the biodiversity of Minneapolis parks
-
Collaborate with local experts and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) staff
-
Identify as many plants, animals, and organisms as possible
-
Use microscopes, magnifying glasses, binoculars and other provided tools
-
Create a snapshot of the variety of life at a specific place and point in time
-
Contribute valuable data for scientists and researchers
-
All ages are welcome - youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
