The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) welcomes volunteers for a trio of BioBlitzes on upcoming Saturdays *

* More BioBlitzes planned for winter and spring!

So ... what's a BioBlitz?

Community members of all ages and backgrounds work with local experts to create a snapshot of the variety of life in a specific location over a specific time period.

  • Find & identify plants, animals, and other organisms
  • Discover and explore the biodiversity of Minneapolis parks
  • Contribute valuable data for scientists and researchers
  • Join friends, neighbors and others (you don't have to be a scientist!)
  • Use microscopes, magnifying glasses, binoculars and other provided tools

Each BioBlitz is organized into three sessions, so people can sign up for multiple sessions at multiple parks if they wish.

Session 1: Early birding - 7:30-9:00 am

Session 2: Nature Survey - 9:15 - 11:30 am

[Light lunch provided for those who sign up for sessions 2 and 3]

Session 3: Nature Survey - 12:00 pm - 2:15 pm
