Canoe Programs Morning, Noon, and Night!

Paddle with a Naturalist:

Moonlight Paddle

Learn paddling techniques and safety tips on land from trained Canoe Instruction staff, then enjoy a leisurely exploration on the water with whatever level of naturalist guidance you prefer. Look for wildlife from your boat and take in the serenity of the moonlit lake.  Ages 14+

Morning Paddle

Learn paddling techniques and safety tips on land from trained Canoe Instructor staff, then enjoy a leisurely exploration on the water with whatever level of Naturalist guidance you prefer. Look for wildlife from your boat and take in the serenity of the morning lake.  Ages 18+

Family Paddle

Learn paddling techniques and safety tips on land from trained Canoe Instructor staff, then enjoy exploring on the water or practice your skills with paddling challenges. Look for wildlife from your boat and take in the summer buzz of an afternoon on the lake.  Ages 4+

Canoeing Workshop

Develop your canoeing skills during this 3-week series! Trained Canoe Instruction staff will teach new paddling techniques each week that will build and advance participants’ skillsets as they are used through challenges on the water. Discover the importance of communication and collaboration amongst your boatmates while also having time to explore the waterbody and look for wildlife.  Ages 12+

Drop-in Canoeing

FREE canoeing from 5-7pm. No registration, just drop by!
Explore the water with friends, family and neighbors each week Tuesdays at Powderhorn, Wednesdays at Loring, and Thursdays at Wirth Lake.

September 3 - Apple Harvest: Learn about the apple trees in our orchard, harvest apples, and make an apple snack!

October 1 - Fall Bounty: Let's harvest the bounties of the garden after a long season of growing and learn about preparation needed for the winter ahead.

Meet a real Mississipi Mermaid! Children can make their own mermaid treasure to take home and learn from a naturalist about our Mississippi fish friends, before watching Disney's The Little Mermaid, part of MPRB's Movies In the Park series.
