Update: playground construction at North Commons Park

North Commons Playground 4-17-2024

With the installation of play equipment complete, the next step before the playground opens to the public is for contractors to install safety surfacing.

This step requires warmer overnight temperatures, as well as no forecasted precipitation, so that rubber surfacing can cure (harden) properly over at least four days. Given recent and forecasted weather, it may be a few weeks before it's both warm and dry enough to install and cure the surfacing.

In the meantime, MPRB asks everyone to keep out of the fenced areas until the work is complete and the fencing is removed. Nearby playgrounds are at Cottage ParkGlen Gale Park, Lovell Square Park and Willard Park

MPRB will send another update as soon as new information is confirmed.
