Main Street Closures |
Main Street SE closes between Merriam Street and 1st Avenue NE, April 15-May 24, for trail upgrade project
Main Street SE is scheduled to close between Merriam Street and 1st Avenue NE beginning April 15, 2024 and ending May 24, 2024. The closure is necessary for a contractor hired by Hennepin County to perform a trail project in the area.
The existing trail on the south side of Main Street between Merriam and Hennepin will be rebuilt and a new trail between Hennepin Avenue and 1st Avenue NE will be added.
Motorized vehicles will be detoured to University Avenue and bikes and walkers will need to use the north sidewalk along Main Street.
Please follow all posted signs and stay away from areas where work is being performed. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appreciates the public's patience while these exciting trail upgrades are completed.
