Join us this Leap Day!

Birding with a Naturalist:
Winter Woodpeckers

Winter is a wonderful time to be on the lookout for the bright flashes of woodpeckers on the bare trees. This Leap Year Day join a naturalist for a walk in the park to seek out and learn about Minnesota’s winter woodpeckers.
Binoculars provided if needed. Ages 16+

Eagles at the River SATURDAY March 23 from 10:30am-Noon. Ages 10+

Waterfowl at Lake Hiawatha THURSDAY April 11 from 9:30-11am. Ages 18+

Earth Week Intro to Birding THURSDAY April 25 from 8:30-10am. Ages 18+

Forest Bathing

A Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, will guide an experience of thoughtful invitations to help you slow down and explore the world around you, followed by opportunities to share our experiences with one another. Ages 18+

Nature Play Groups

Bring your little one to play and have fun outside with other children and their grown ups. Each day will focus on a different seasonal nature theme and offer opportunities for observing, following curiosity, and sensory investigation during this outdoor exploration time! Ages 1.5 - 4 with an adult.

Drop-in Discovery

Come outside to explore the park, investigate the curiosities we find, engage in art or experimentation, and enjoy time spent outdoors. FREE for all Ages. No registration necessary.

Neighborhood Naturalist Program

 

The Minneapolis Parks’ Neighborhood Naturalist program offers nature-based,
outdoor, and environmental education experiences throughout parks city-wide.
Park Naturalists aim to connect people in Minneapolis with nearby nature
using curiosity, joy, and community to empower learning.
