Bring your little one to play, have fun explore nature, and socialize with other families! Each day will focus on a different seasonal nature theme and offer opportunities for observing, following curiosity, and sensory investigation during this outdoor exploration time!

This is an Adult/Child interactive program for ages 1½ - 4 with an adult, and led by a Neighborhood Naturalist Educator. $4 per child/week. Scholarships available, email to inquire.

Investigate shapes and shades of colors as we follow our curiosities amongst the silhouettes of bare tree branches and seek out tucked away nature treasures.
Adventure outside to see what animals are up to and have sensory investigations with snow. Then we'll restore our energy and warmth creating tasty treats in the kitchen.

Young children and their caregivers explore a range of seasonal nature themes with a naturalist during weekly "indoor playground" programs at Recreation Centers across the City. Check out the link below for a list of locations. Sign up for the playground program online, or in person.

No need to register - stop by a neighborhood park for new activities with a naturalist each week. Some locations offer indoor activities; others are entirely outdoors, so dress for the weather! (Discovery sessions pause from mid-December to early January.)

Let nature observations inspire artistic creations! We will hike around the park to look at the shapes, forms, textures, and colors that we observe in different tree parts and tree species. Then we'll move inside where each person will create a small, seasonally fresh, evergreen centerpiece that you will take home to display.
