Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announces 2023 Music and Movies in the Parks lineup

Inflatable movie screen will show mix of classics and new releases at parks around Minneapolis Monday-Saturday all summer
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is excited to announce the 2023 Music and Movies in the Parks lineup!
This year Minneapolis Music in the Parks features more than 200 free outdoor concerts at eight park venues between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Movies in the Parks will host a free outdoor movie screening on an inflatable screen somewhere in the park system on more than 75 summer nights.
The entire schedule is posted at the Minneapolis Music and Movies in the Parks website (mplsmusicandmovies.com). Subscribe to email updates on the Music and Movies page to receive the schedule for the upcoming week in your inbox every Sunday night.
A limited supply of free printed pocket maps will be available at all recreation centers, park restaurants and MPRB Headquarters. Concert performers and movie screenings may change throughout the summer, check online calendars for the most up-to-date information.
Movies in the Parks
Movies in the Parks begins June 1. A wide variety of new releases and beloved classics will be screened throughout the summer at a different park every day, Monday-Saturday*, through Sept. 2. Movies start 15 minutes after sunset.
Bringing your own blanket, chair and bug spray is recommended. You can also bring your own food and beverage, no glass please.
*no movie scheduled June 5, June 19, and July 4
Music in the Parks
Music in the Parks kicks off on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29 at Lake Harriet with a doubleheader featuring Maria and the Coins at 5:30 pm and Big Mike & The Funktion at 7:30 pm! After that, more than 200 concerts will showcase the incredible variety of talented musicians and entertainers in Minneapolis and surrounding communities through Labor Day, Monday, September 4.
Downtown residents, workers, and visitors are invited to a new series of weekday concerts at noon in Downtown Parks! Head over to Loring Park on Tuesdays, The Commons on Wednesdays, and Water Works on Fridays for free weekday entertainment.
Please note a temporary stage will be in place to start the season at Lake Harriet as work continues on Bandshell repairs and Father Hennepin Bluff Park concerts debut July 11 on a new stage next to the Stone Arch Bridge.
A new series of weekday concerts at noon are coming to Loring Park (Tues), The Commons (Wed) and Water Works (Fri)
